When I first opened the Ruby and shared photos, the reaction was pretty much unanimously “ooh how pretty!” One of Vibease’s Jewel collection, the Ruby is part of a line of jewel-inspired toys that are all little works of art with their lovely combination of curves and geometric lines. The Ruby has soft silicone petals that are designed to caress and buzz the clitoris gently.
It’s really, really buzzy. The little petals are so light that there is no resistance or firmness against my clit. Which basically just numbs it immediately. So, you know, that’s not ideal. I was a little disappointed since I had high hopes for Ruby. It’s so cute, it’s funky looking, and if you know me at all, you’ll know I dig all things pink! The literature also says that it has a color-changing base, but mine was always just the white light.
Playing with it in bed one night, after I’d managed to numb myself completely, I took the toy to my husband’s body. The pinpoint vibrations in the tickly petals are great for massage and touch play. I enjoyed teasing him with it a great deal.
For clit play, I might have been better off with their Emerald, which seems to have more substantial ears that might be a little rumblier. Or the Onyx which is a ring pop shaped vibe that wraps around the base of the penis meant to provide vibration to a couple.
